Belief Commanded

1 John 3:23, And this is his commandment, that we believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he has commanded us. This command to believe goes out to all of humanity.  There are no options either!  God created us all and God has commanded us all to believe in the Jesus of Scripture.  Believe in this Jesus because there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. (see Acts 4:12) Believe in this Jesus because if you reject this Jesus you reject eternal life. John 3:16 says, For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

Thankful for God’s Blessings!

Find your Bible and read Colossians 1:12-14.  You will see that it is God the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints. What we must realize is that God alone has saved us.  We have not saved ourselves.  Salvation is of God alone and it is only by His grace that we are qualified for eternal life.  When you think of having to be qualified for something it means that there are conditions that must be met.  For example: »»

The Narrow Gate

Matthew 7:13-14, “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.” With this statement Jesus was saying that He is the way that leads to life.  He is the narrow gate through which you must enter.  So the question is: Do you believe Him? And will you believe Him again today? Will you come to Him as a child believing what He says?  For he says, to such belongs the kingdom of heaven. There is so much in our lives today that keeps us from doing that very thing… so much that keeps us from coming to him as a child believing these simple truths of the gospel.  Many are apathetic or deceived.  They don’t understand the weight of what is at stake.  Many have grown fat and happy in this world with the pleasures of this life… »»
