For the Lord’s Day 4.2.17

Dear Covenant Church Family,

1 John 2:15-17:   “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.  For all that is in the world- the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions- is not from the Father but is from the world.  And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.”

For the Lord’s Day 3.26.17

Dear Covenant Church Family,

Praise God that where His Holy Spirit dwells there is growth in grace.  The promise is that sin will no longer have dominion over us, but will more and more be weakened and killed as we live by the Spirit.  “Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God.” (2 Cor 7:1)

For the Lord’s Day 3.19.17

Dear Covenant Church Family,

There will always be areas of our lives where we continue to struggle with sin.  But, God’s grace is real and the gracious work of the Holy Spirit in our lives does bring about change.  Our Father in heaven does not leave us as we are but He promises to conform (change) us more into the image of His Son.  Sometimes the change is slower and sometimes faster.  Come and hear more about it this Sunday at Covenant!!

For the Lord’s Day 3.5.17

Dear Covenant Church Family,

1 Corinthians 13:1-3  “If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.  And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.  If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.”
