For the Lord’s Day 9.10.17

Dear Covenant Church Family,

This week’s sermon text is Genesis 19.  It is most assuredly an interesting passage of Scripture.  We might say that it is awkward or even embarrassing.  But, it is God’s holy Word and it is profitable for us.  And if we’ll stop long enough to consider what happened with Lot and his family in Sodom… I think we will realize that even our own culture and maybe our own lives are not that much different.  Therefore, this awkward chapter in God’s Word has much to say to us in 2017.  I hope to see you this Sunday as we join together at Covenant to worship our God and Savior, Jesus Christ.

2)  Lot’s Lingering (vv 12-22)

3)  Lot’s Wife (vv 23-29)

4)  Lot’s Legacy (vv 30-38)

For the Lord’s Day 9.3.17

Dear Covenant Church Family,

“Our Lord Jesus, in the night wherein He was betrayed, instituted the sacrament of His body and blood, called the Lord’s Supper, to be observed in His Church, unto the end of the world for the perpetual remembrance of the sacrifice of Himself in His death, the sealing all benefits thereof unto true believers, their spiritual nourishment and growth in Him, their further engagement in and to all duties which they owe unto Him; and, to be a bond and pledge of their communion with Him, and with each other, as members of His mystical body.”

Westminster Confession of Faith, chapter 29, Section 1.
